Named among those arrested on 28 June 2026 in the Green Zone operation, on corruption charges, in the preliminary list the Iraqi News Agency published citing senior sources, and by an Integrity Commission source (the authorities did not officially announce the names). A precautionary seizure of movable and immovable assets was ordered by the investigating judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court (decision 555 of 13 July 2026, sent through the Karkh Court of Appeal), passed on by the Finance Ministry on 27 July 2026 and by the Central Bank to all banks on 28 August 2026 (the letters and the list of names are filed). (The Central Bank letter as reported spells the name al-Kurwi.) No charge sheet, verdict or release had been published as of 30 September 2026. Listed by the Finance Ministry as Mudar Maan Salih Khalaf al-Karoudi (so spelled; al-Karawi in the news lists), MP.
