Named among those arrested on 28 June 2026 in the Green Zone operation, on corruption charges, in the preliminary list the Iraqi News Agency published citing senior sources, and by an Integrity Commission source (the authorities did not officially announce the names). Not among the twelve whose assets the Central Bank letter of 28 August 2026 froze. No charge sheet, verdict or release had been published as of 30 September 2026. Separately, on 9 June 2026 Shafaq reported a letter showing that the Wasit integrity investigation court had asked, through the Wasit appeal court, for parliament to be approached so that legal action could be taken against him under Penal Code art. 343/3 (causing death or damage by negligence) over the Kut hypermarket fire of July 2025; that case concerns negligence, not money.
