On 16 September 2024 the Supreme Judicial Council asked the Karkh Third Investigation Court to take legal action against him, including over a plot of land allocated to the Real Estate Registration Department in Maysan. On 7 October 2024 that court issued an arrest order because he had not appeared in the cases in which he was charged, and to investigate leaked audio recordings attributed to him (judicial source, Shafaq News). On 22 October 2024 he was relieved of the post at his own request. The charges have not been published, and no verdict is on record as of 30 September 2026.
