The Integrity Commission said on 22 July 2025 that the Rusafa Criminal Court had given him two life sentences under Article 315 (second part) of the Penal Code and ordered him to repay IQD 10,446,442,000. On the same day the Supreme Judicial Council reported two life sentences under the same article for a cashier of the Husseiniya traffic office who had altered receipt amounts; the statements do not say whether they concern the same man. The judgment was not seen.
