On 22 August 2013 MP Jawad al-Shuhaili said Parliament's integrity committee had referred the file to the Integrity Commission by letter 144, asking for the arrest of and a travel ban on the company's owner, whom the committee accused of trying to blow up the ship carrying 25,000 tonnes of sugar below specification at Umm Qasr port, and said he had fled to Dubai. On 24 August 2013 committee chair Bahaa al-Araji sent the papers to the Public Prosecution with the same requests. No later outcome is on record as of 19 October 2026.
