On 4 January 2023 the Integrity Commission said the Karkh second integrity court had summoned the current minister of justice and the ministry's director of security permits under Article 329 of the Penal Code, for obstructing a decision of the investigating judge in the prison feeding case and refusing to give the Commission's team the documents it requested. The day before, the head of the Commission had accused him of using his authority to obstruct its work. The summons concerned obstruction of the inquiry; he is not charged over the contracts themselves as far as the sources show. No later decision is on record as of 19 October 2026.
