- None found in the sources reviewed. The only official remark found is the statement of an unnamed Investment Commission employee to 964 in April 2023 (see project_fate). It reports problems with the supplier and does not allege wrongdoing.
- What became of the project
- The NIC list records licence 49/2015 of 28 May 2015 for the implementation and operation of gas networks in the Bismayah residential project, New Bismayah City, Baghdad, sector services, nationality Iraqi and Lebanese, at a cost of USD 140,000,000, with the Commission contributing USD 70,000,000 for implementation. Completion is recorded as 13 per cent. No obstacle is recorded. On 20 April 2023 the news network 964 reported that the gas system did not work inside apartments in Bismayah and that it worked only in district A of the complex. An unnamed employee of the Investment Commission told 964 that the Commission sold apartments without activating the LPG gas system because of high demand and the stoppage of the Korean company Hanwha, and that there were some problems with the Lebanese company Unigaz, which supplies the service, but that they would be solved soon. Whether the network was completed later was not found.
